DG x MK: Off to Elsewhere special poster publication
This special publication brings together 40 images exploring the idea of “elsewhere” across eight double-sided A3 posters, produced through a collaboration between Der Greif and Münchner Kammerspiele.
Off to Elsewhere
The eight posters unfold into a sequence of works by 40 international artists. Each poster presents a full-bleed image on one side and a composition of four images on the other. The publication also includes an essay by Caroline von Courten and an editorial by Daniel Veldhoen, artistic director of Münchner Kammerspiele.
The publication considers photography and theatre as forms capable of bringing mental, real, and subjective dimensions together within spaces of projection and imagined travel.
Poster size (unfolded): 420 × 594 mm
Poster size (folded): 229 × 324 mm
About the Off to Elsewhere Open Call
Off to Elsewhere was the theme of Münchner Kammerspiele’s 2024/25 season. The accompanying open call with Der Greif received more than 1,000 submissions from 82 countries. Çağla Ilk, co-director of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden and curator of the German Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale, selected 40 images by artists aged between 25 and 74. The selected works were presented as part of the theatre’s citywide visual campaign for the 2024/25 season, a site-specific photography exhibition, and this special publication.
