Wei Jinchun

Wei Jinchun (b. 1995, Guangxi, China) is a photographic artist and university educator based in Zhaoqing, Guangdong. He received his master’s degree from the Department of Photographic Art at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. His practice is centered on photography and extends to installation and performance, exploring questions of self, family, and the histories and present realities of cities. His work has received a Critics’ Choice Award from LensCulture in 2024, Excellence Awards at the 5th and 7th 1839 Photography Awards, a finalist distinction in the Annual Independent Photobook Award at the 1st Pixel Photobook Awards, and an Outstanding Work Award at the 24th Pingyao International Photography Festival, among other honors. His photobook Tangshan was published by Danish publisher Snap Collective.
