If I Am Guilty draws on domestic violence and his own experience of responding to violence with violence, bringing accusation and self-judgment together. Through repeated visits to the northern Chinese industrial city of Tangshan and the editing of a photobook, Tangshan brings historical memory, people, industry, and contemporary life into a shared framework of viewing. Unfinished Lands uses 4×5 large-format film to observe spaces that have stalled, remain unfinished, or no longer fulfill their intended functions amid urbanization and real estate development in China.
