In 2024, Wei Jinchun’s work was selected for Off to Elsewhere, a joint project by Münchner Kammerspiele and Der Greif. Curated by Çağla Ilk, curator of the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, the exhibition brought together work by 40 artists from around the world to explore photography’s “blind spots”—what lies beyond the image—and viewers’ psychological projections. Wei’s photograph I Love You, China, from Tangshan, was exhibited at the theater and selected for display as a large-format poster in Munich’s public spaces.

Wei Jinchun’s solo exhibition The Return of the Crevice ran from July 13 to August 31, 2024, at CICADA, a collaborative creative space in Wuxi. It presented four works spanning photography, installation, and performance, including a live performance, a video installation combining surveillance recordings with educational materials, and the photographic series Tangshan. Reflecting on family, personal experience, and urban history, the exhibition explored a return to the self and the experience of life from an existential perspective.
